An effort a couple of Santa Monica High School students started to get their peers biking to campus is still rolling along four years later.

Metrolink is launching a pilot program to introduce the first two “bicycle cars,” passenger railcars with space for 18 bicycles, instead of the standard two slots most trains have now, according to a news release.
