Los Angeles – A $100 million streetcar project slated for downtown Los Angeles is making progress. Officials are going ahead with an environmental review of two possible routes, reported blogdowntown.com. One of the proposed routes would go south down Broadway between 1st and 11th streets and then west to Figueroa north to 7th Steet, east to Hill, and end on 1st, the blog reported.
Construction on the project was to get underway this year and take two years to complete, but the project is running a year behind. The project began to gain steam in 2008 with the formation of a non profit, the securing of redevelopment funds, and the hosting of workshops. The design for the streetcar project is still in the work.
